SINGAPORE - The Observation Deck of the Marina Bay Sands (MBS) SkyPark will be closed off to the public and hotel guests to facilitate a base jumping event.
Seven professional base jumpers, hailing from different parts of the world, will participate in the base jumping display to welcome the New Year.
They will leap off the Observation Deck on the 57th storey of the hotel and land on Bayfront Bridge along Bayfront Avenue.
Members of the public can witness the stunt, happening for the first time at MBS, from various vantage points including the section of Bayfront Avenue in between the hotel and The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, as well as the outdoor area located on level 4 of the Sands Expo and Convention Center.
There will be two practice jumps on Dec 30 and Dec 31, 2011, before the final stunt on Jan 1, 2012.
From 3pm to 5pm on those days, the Observation Deck will be closed.
The other parts of the SkyPark such as the infinity pool, restaurants and gardens will remain open to hotel guests and the dining public throughout the day.
